The drama at the Cleveland Browns quarterback position is at an all-time high. But one thing is certain Baker Mayfield is not returning to the team. The team and many fans thought he would be the difference-maker, but that’s not the case. Since the Browns have acquired Deshaun Watson with a blockbuster deal, Mayfield has asked for a trade.

Veteran broadcaster Colin Cowherd recently did an interview with the Browns writer Mary Kay. The interview was on the Colin Cowherd Podcast uploaded on the Volume YouTube channel. During the podcast, Cowherd and Kay talked about Mayfield. It seemed like the veteran journalist had a lot to say about the situation.

Baker Mayfield out of Cleveland?

Baker Mayfield was drafted by the Browns in 2018. He was the first overall pick of that year’s draft. Mayfield was thought to be the difference-maker in the squad, but injuries did not allow him to do much. Now the Browns are looking to move forward. As soon as the legal allegations on Deshaun Watson were dropped, they hopped on the QB and signed him.

It was clear that the franchise wants Watson to be their starting quarterback. After the blockbuster deal, Mayfield asked to be traded away. The quarterback has openly admitted that he wants to join the Indianapolis Colts. They could use a player of his caliber. The Indianapolis Colts could be a possible destination for the athlete because they traded away Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders.

Another team that desperately needs a quarterback is the Seattle Seahawks. After trading away Russell Wilson to the Broncos, their QB position is in jeopardy. As of right now, the future of Mayfield is up in the air. There’s no saying where the quarterback might end up next season.

The journalist explains that Mayfield cannot just ask for a trade. “You don’t tell teams where you get traded unless you’re Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson and have a no-trade clause. This isn’t college football. You can’t enter the transfer portal and go wherever you want.” Colin Cowherd didn’t hold back while expressing his feelings about Baker Mayfield.
