When Tom Brady announced his retirement for the second time in the last two years, fans were skeptical. Many assumed that his indecision would win again, giving the QB one more year in the league. But that does not seem to be the case.
When he delivered his parting message via social media on February 1, the QB explicitly said that he’d be retiring “for good.” But because history said otherwise, a section of the NFL world anticipated his return. Now, the latest reports indicate that Brady’s decision may be set in stone.

This move indicates that Brady’s decision was thought through. The finality that comes with filing paperwork showcases the decisive stance he’s taken. By retiring for good the QB ends his 23-year-long playing career.
However, this doesn’t mean that his retirement is irreversible. Brady could still resume his playing career if he chooses to. But, for the QB to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the class of 2028, he’ll have to remain retired for the next five years. On the flip side, fans remain skeptical. Despite knowing the finality indicated by the filing of official paperwork, the NFL world is still dubious.
