The 6-times pro bowl champion Gerald McCoy was recently a guest on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’. Cowherd on the show talked about Adams and said, “Davante Adams says over the weekend, yeah, that’s why I left. He’s like, they offered me more money, but I don’t want to get stuck. And I thought, Aaron, you probably should keep that retirement thing, right?”
Cowherd and McCoy had a discussion on the departure of Davante Adams, where McCoy presented his own views on the situation. He said, “Yeah. I mean, he’s my favorite player, so I kind of have to get biased at times, but in reality, if I’m his receiver, I feel the same way. You can’t keep doing that. I’m about to be locked in here for the next five years, and I want a quarterback that I could trust.” McCoy stressed the fact that nobody would want to be stuck for five years with a quarterback they don’t trust.
