Deion Sanders‘ home opener against Nebraska continues to shine in the limelight! It all commenced during the season opener against TCU, where an intense showdown ended in a narrow upset. Prime used the subsequent press conference to challenge his critics, even engaging in a spirited exchange with a reporter. The clash with Nebraska followed, marked by an unusual incident initiated by the opposing team that left CU fans enraged.
Recently, Sanders made a noteworthy appearance on ‘Undisputed’ with Skip Bayless and Michael Irvin, where he addressed these events. He also shared insights into his son’s remarkable competitiveness, which led Prime to summon him to the sideline.

During the interview, Skip asked Sanders about the message Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule was trying to convey by calling his players to the midfield, right on the Buffalo logo, before the showdown. Prime, with a good-natured chuckle, admitted he had no prior knowledge of the incident until he saw it reflected in his son’s comment. He then recounted a moment when Shedeur delivered a Heisman-worthy scramble during the game, removing his helmet in celebration, which immediately sent a wave of concern through Coach Dad.
In the heat of the moment, Prime swiftly called out his son to the sideline, and in the interview, he revealed, “I turned into a dad for a minute,” followed by, “I said, ‘Son! You can not do that, you can not take off your helmet.’” Sanders went on to share how Shedeur responded with, “Dad, it’s personal,” before dashing back onto the field. Co-host Irvin, who had been present at the game, added that Sanders had conveyed the same message in the locker room, which his son then echoed.
Despite a challenging first quarter for the CU offense, the defense stepped up admirably, bridging the gap and achieving a memorable victory over Nebraska.

In a game where the offense initially grappled, CU’s place-kicker, Jace Feely stepped up with a remarkable 31-yard field goal, carrying the team to a commanding 13-0 lead in the first half. Shedeur truly shone in the second half, completing an impressive 32 of 42 passes for a total of 393 yards. Notably, he contributed two passing touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown to his tally. Moreover, WR Xavier Weaver was exceptional, securing 10 passes for a total of 170 yards.
This resounding victory has not only doubled the team’s win count from last year but also catapulted them to the summit of the scoreboard, defying preseason projections that placed them in the 11th spot in the Pac-12.
