Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been one of the greatest quarterbacks to play in the NFL. Throughout his career, he achieved many individual and team awards. However, he also had to go through many rejections and hard times to become a successful NFL player. In an interview back in August, Rodgers talked about an incident with his college professor, who demotivated him pretty badly.

Chatting with famous UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, Rodgers told some interesting stories about playing football as a kid. In his stories, he revealed that people in his life did not believe that he would make it in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers tells an outrageous story about his college professor

While talking to Rogan, Rodgers told a story about a college professor when he was studying at the University of California. One of my favorite stories about somebody who didn’t believe in me was I had this teacher in Cal and I wrote this paper in a food appreciation class. I wrote a paper and she said I cited incorrectly… So in my class of 20, let’s say 15 of the kids didn’t cite it exactly how she said, 14 of them got to rewrite the paper, not me. I said ‘okay I’m gonna go see her at her hours,Rodgers said.

Interestingly, he was on the football team, dreaming of playing in the NFL. He missed his meeting and took permission from the coach of the football team to meet his teacher. So, went to her office, and she was ready for me. She got my paper out and I said ‘look I’m not asking for a special privilege here but, the other 14 kids who got an F on their paper got to rewrite their paper and I didn’t’. And she ripped me apart ‘you are entitled athlete, you expect things to be given to you, what are you gonna do with your life?’” he further added.

“I said, ‘I’m gonna play in the NFL’. She said, ‘no way in hell, you will get hurt, you will never make it… you will need your education and you will never make it and what I’ve seen from you is you won’t amount to anything’. I said, ‘watch me’,” the Packers quarterback further revealed.

In that same interview, Rodgers revealed that the teacher tried to expel him by lying to the authority, as she wanted an apology letter from him. Rodgers used his teacher’s words as fuel to make it in the NFL.

Rodgers won his first Super Bowl in 2011

In 2005, the Packers picked Rodgers in the NFL draft. For the first three years, he was not a starter for the Packers. However, in 2008, he became a regular in the team and never looked back. In 2011, he won his first Super Bowl ring and earned the MVP award as well.

Since then, he came close many times but was unable to reach the Super Bowl. The 2022-23 season could be his last with the Packers, but the Cheeseheads will always remember him as a legend.
