The NFL is not only witnessing roster changes for teams in the trade window ahead of the 2023 season. Apart from this, there are also structural changes undergoing in terms of match scheduling in the NFL. One of the most unpopular fixtures of the NFL is Thursday Night Football (TNF). Fans in the NFL world have been speaking about their discontent with TNF for the past few years. Not just fans, but even players feel that TNF is something they all collectively dislike, as they have to play physically exerting games with just three days of rest.
However, the league does not look like it will be changing its stance with Thursday Night Football. Further, it now plans on having two games on Thursday night. In the midst of his WrestleMania debut during the Pat McAfee vs The Miz matchup, the San Francisco 49ers TE revealed his thoughts on the new rule.

49ers TE George Kittle feels that the idea of adding an extra game to Thursday Night Football is just a hellish experience for players. A league like the NFL requires its players to have adequate rest and peak physical prowess, given how physical the sport is. Kittle feels that NFL players require an adequate recovery period from the hell they put their bodies through in each game. If they are not careful of how they treat themselves, then the risk of injuries increases for players.

Thursday Night Football highly debated in the NFL
TNF was a part of FOX on television before Amazon took over and shifted the games online to their Amazon TV app. But it did not go too well for the league as it saw a 46 percent decline in viewership. TNF was already a dark horse that did not receive a lot of positive attention from the fans. Now, with the league planning on having two games on Thursday rather than one, this brings about the question of whether the league even considers the opinions of its fans and players.
Playing two games for these players will increase the risk of injuries. Not only this, the of them making it to the postseason in a healthy manner will be a question that will linger in the NFL world. What do you think about TNF and the new rules? Let us know in the comments below.
