The New York Jets’ pursuit of Aaron Rodgers has certainly been the highlight of the offseason. The team has made desperate efforts to clear cap space for signing Rodgers and create a capable roster beside him. Last week saw the Jets pick up Rodgers‘ partner WR in Green Bay. Allen Lazard signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the Jets. However, there are some who are not happy with the Jets’ decision and this WR is one of them.
The first move is already on board for the Jets, and they are definitely ready to make big moves. The team traded WR Elijah Moore to the Browns earlier this week. Moore was bound to be on the move after requesting a trade early in the season due to the Jets’ unstable QB situation under Zach Wilson. But he is definitely ready to establish himself under new leadership in a growing Browns team.

Moore requested a trade from the Jets last October due to his lack of involvement in the team’s offense. The WR was also involved in a heated confrontation with offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur in practice. The confrontation saw him being sent home and sitting out a game as an inactive player. It’s clear that Moore’s situation in New York had seen the end of its days. He is eager to make a fresh start with the Browns.
Elijah Moore seems to be embracing his new situation with the Browns. While he may have missed out on the opportunity to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers, he sure is excited to play alongside Deshaun Watson. “He’s a legit quarterback. It’s someone that has been doing some amazing things around the league,” the WR said, as per NYPost.com It remains to be seen how Watson will perform in the wake of the negative publicity surrounding his name, but Moore is willing to give him a chance.

The Deshaun Watson conundrum
Watson’s reputation has taken damage in recent years after allegations of sexual misconduct arose. The NFL suspended the QB for nine games last season and fined him $5 million as a result. However, it seems that Moore is not too concerned about Watson’s past but instead focused on the future.
When he was asked about Watson, Moore said, “He has respect from everybody around the league.” For Elijah Moore, this trade may just be the best thing. Only time will tell if the Jets made the right move in trading him away. But, for now, Moore is focused on making the most of his new opportunity in Cleveland.
