Aaron Rodgers hasn’t made a definitive call about his future next year with the Packers. There are a lot of conditions on the table for A-Rod’s return to Wisconsin. And it’s uncertain if the Packers will oblige. And NFL experts think there can be a new franchise in contention to land the 4x MVP.
The New York Jets were making quite the noise as Rodgers’ potential landing spot this season. The Jets’ hiring of Nathaniel Hackett as their OC solidified that belief. However, after the Dallas Cowboys faced elimination from the playoffs against the 49ers, some Cowboys fans think that a Dak-for-A-Rod trade is not so outrageous.

Founder and CEO of the Ringer and host of the Bill Simmons podcast, William Simmons had Cousin Sal on the set after the San Francisco 49ers held the Cowboys to a 19-12 win. And Dallas fans have lost faith in their quarterback Dak Prescott. With ‘Trade Dak’ chants already abounding, fans are getting rid of their Prescott No. 4 merch.
If Hackett was the driving force in bringing Aaron Rodgers to the Jets, the Cowboys have an even bigger shot because of their head coach Mike McCarthy. Mike and A-Rod spent 13 years together with the Green Bay Packers winning the NFC North six times and the Super Bowl in the 2010-11 season.
“Is Dak for Rodgers crazy? Would you trade for Aaron Rodgers? You don’t want 3 years of Rodger,” Bill Simmons asked Cousin Sal after Dak’s 2-interception game against the Niners.

While Dak Prescott led the NFL this season in interceptions (17), A-Rod wasn’t that far behind. The reigning back-to-back NFL MVP also had one of the worst seasons of his career. His 12 picks this season are the highest he has thrown since the 2008 campaign. Rodgers has also struggled this season with injuries. A broken thumb, an oblique rib injury, and a blow to his knees slowed the King in the North down significantly.
Aaron Rodgers still has a guaranteed payout of $59.465 million waiting if he returned to Wisconsin for his 19th year in the league. And the 39-year-old’s contract particulars will have to be discussed before A-Rod arrives at a decision. Be it for the Jets or the Cowboys.

However, Broadway Aaron looks more plausible right now despite the Johnson & Johnson Pharma dispute with Rodgers. More so, because Cowboys owner Jerry Jones still wants to trust Prescott for next year. And after a 27-year Super Bowl drought and a 5-12 postseason record, Jerry’s decision may have unfavorable consequences for Dallas next season.
