Rob Gronkowski has said goodbye to football on multiple occasions now. The former NFL player has made it clear that he does not intend to come back to the league after his second retirement. On Wednesday, the 33-year-old sent the NFL world into a frenzy with a single tweet. The tweet read, “I’m kinda bored”. Apparently, it was enough to send a shockwave down the league and the fans, who started to speculate about a possible return. However, Gronk later cleared that it was never his intention with the tweet. However, recently, he did reveal the reaction of his agent, who was already in the process of contacting teams after reading the post.

Gronkowski talked with Kay Adams recently where the TE revealed that his agent Drew Rosenhaus was as excited as anyone. Following the tweet, Gronk revealed, “The funniest part about it was my agent. He’s definitely super agent Drew Rosenhaus. He texted me within 30 minutes of the tweet that’s how on top of the game he is.” The 4 time Super Bowl champion told Adams that his agent was ready to talk to teams in the league. Nonetheless, Gronk had to talk his excited agent down. “I just started laughing like ‘no Drew, you know I’m not playing’ but he just still wanted to see me out there call some teams,” Gronkowski added.

In the end, the tweet turned out to be just a setup for an announcement from the 33-year-old. FanDuel announced their collaboration with the retired NFL icon as the new ambassador for the betting company.

Two teams contacted Rob Gronkowski for a potential return

Talking further to Adams, Gronkowski also told her that there were two teams which contacted him. Following his tweet, two out of the 32 teams in the NFL were interested to know the situation of the 33-year-old. When the host tried to push the former TE for more answers, he remained tight-lipped. When asked if he talked to Bill Belichick or not, he told her that the duo only talked about holiday plans and bringing their dogs together.

While it is hard to speculate which teams it could have been, one thing is hard not to imagine. Tom Brady calling the TE after the tweet. The 45-year-old has once called Gronkowski out of retirement to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So if there is any chance that the beloved NFL figure returns to the league, one will have to imagine Brady will somehow be involved in it.
