As Watson’s suspension period remains in oblivion, the Browns QB issued a public apology for the first time and displayed regret for his actions.

QB Deshaun Watson made an appearance during the Browns’ in-house show with Aditi Kinkhabwala. He expressed regret and apologized to those who were harmed because of his alleged improper conduct. The conversation happened before Watson’s preseason debut with his new franchise against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday night.
Watson said, “I want to say that I’m truly sorry to all the women that I have impacted in this situation. The decisions that I made in my life that put me in this position; I would definitely like to have back. But I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character. And I am going to keep pushing forward.”

He also added, “I know I have a lot of work to put in. Especially on the field to be able to make sure I’m ready to play whenever that time comes, whenever I can step back on the field… I want to make sure that I’m just evolving in the community as much as possible, and that’s for the Cleveland community, that’s the NFL community, and beyond.”

Watson’s remarks portray a shift in direction and tonality. He had strongly denied all wrongdoing and pledged to come clean about it.

Deshaun Watson made his walk into the field after a long time. It also marks his first game with the Cleveland Browns. However, it was not a merry start. As per Yahoo! Sports, During three series of work, the audience loudly booed Watson. Moreover, During his first drive, fans at one end zone were yelling swear words at him.

Cleveland failed to get a first down on all three of its possessions with Deshaun Watson at the helm. He competed without Amari Cooper and many other top franchise athletes. Watson’s night ended with Cleveland trailing 13-0. He chewed gum and sat on a cooler on the sideline for much of the latter half. If he made any progress, it was before kickoff.
