In a move aimed at fostering unity and leadership within the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team has officially named its 2023 NFL season captains. For the offensive captaincy role, quarterback Kenny Pickett has been entrusted with the responsibility. And, the essence of being a great team shines in the unity of the Steelers.
Pickett’s ascendancy to this position highlights his growing stature in the team, even surpassing the achievements of the former legendary quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, at a similar stage in his career. The significance of having a strong leader in the offensive unit cannot be overstated, and the Steelers have found one in Pickett. Despite losing the captaincy, teammate RB Najee Harris showed signs of unity.

Najee Harris: A good teammate means?
Notably, Pickett’s selection as captain is a departure from the tradition of having a running back in this role. However, running back Najee Harris, who held the captaincy position previously, has shown his team-first attitude by fully supporting Pickett. “Kenny’s the quarterback. Kenny’s the guy. I have no issue with that. I don’t think anybody has an issue with there being one captain.” Harris emphasized that being a good teammate means prioritizing the team’s success.
