According to reports, Rob Gronkowski was present at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. He was there to watch the season opener for his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gronk announced his second retirement in June earlier this year, but his appearance on the side of the field seems to have filled many with hopes. But his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has said, “I’m not aware of any change yet.”

The statement drizzles like slow rain on what seemed to be a little spark of joy for fans hoping to see the player return. Even though the retired tight end seems to have made up his mind about his football career, Rosenhaus remains confident that Gronk will return. He ended the remark with the same belief, saying, “But you know what my thoughts have been about this all along.”

Does the team need Rob Gronkowski?

Whether Gronkowski actually returns or not, is yet to be seen with a long season ahead. However, what is evident is the need for good ball catchers in Tampa bay Buccaneers. They lost Antonio Brown due to off-the-field issues. To replace him, they brought in Julio Jones, who is one of the best wide receivers in the league when fit.

Tom Brady started with some great weapons like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones. But, it didn’t go as expected. In the first match, Brady connected with all three of them. They took Chris Godwin out in the first match due to a hamstring injury which is to keep out for multiple weeks.

In the second Match, they penalized Chris Evans with a 1-match suspension for rash conduct on the field. Now, according to reports, Julio Jones has also been ruled out with an injured knee.

The Struggling Offense of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A lack of quality and depth currently plagues the team in the receiving department. This was on display against their matchup against the Green Bay Packers. There were multiple mistakes, including missed catches and fumbles. The team really struggled to get going with their offense.

If it stays like this, Tom Brady would definitely get on a call with his buddy Rob Gronkowski. Brady once convinced him to come out of retirement and play for the Bucs. And there is no doubt that they always look great on the pitch together. The two have spent 11 seasons with each other. Their chemistry shines on the pitch anytime they line up together.
