Green Bay Packers lost their primary receiver, Davante Adams, this past offseason. While they were successful in tying down Aaron Rodgers to a new long-term deal, other endeavors of the team were not as fruitful. As of now, the offense is struggling, even with back-to-back MVPs at the helm. Recently, another experienced receiver, Randall Cobb, has been placed on the injury reserve. It is now being told that the Packers are looking for a new receiver to bring in to help Rodgers.

Jordan Schultz broke the news that the Packers are looking to trade for a wide receiver. The current receiving corp of the team is either fighting injuries or just simply inexperienced. Rodgers has heavily relied on Randall Cobb this season.
However, the WR is now on the injury reserve and will probably be unavailable for the next game. Hence, the Packers are reportedly on the trading block. Just to manage expectations, though, the player they trade for would have to be on a rookie deal.
#Packers have been actively calling around the league to trade for a WR, sources tell @theScore.
Randall Cobb is on IR, Christian Watson has battled a hamstring and Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was activated last week. I’m told GB’s hope is to find someone still on a rookie deal.

While Cobb is on the sidelines, Christian Watson has been fighting a hamstring injury. They only activated Sammy Watkins last week. Apart from this, their depth is spreading thin in the position. Allen Lazard remains the only weapon that Rodgers has worked with and trusts when it comes to his receivers. Lazard has caught for 340 yards, which is the highest on the team, with a catch percentage of 63.4.

Aaron Rodgers does not have any weapons
The front office even angered the fans by not going after a wide receiver with any of their two first-round picks in this year’s NFL draft. That was the expectation from them. After losing Davante Adams, they were unable to bring in anyone with nearly as much quality. Following a rocky offseason, they also lost out on Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In contrast to the Packers, the Chiefs did a commendable job of replacing Tyreek Hill. And even though the team did not bring in any superstar, they did enough to give Patrick Mahomes a chance to work his magic. With Rodgers, he looks shaken up by the amount of dropped catches by his targets.

In a recent interview, Rodgers shared his concern with the young players as well. “I think guys who are making too many mistakes shouldn’t be playing. Gotta start cutting some reps. And maybe guys who aren’t playing give them a chance,” said the quarterback.
