The Chiefs had a night to remember on Thursday when they received their Super Bowl LVII rings at a private ceremony. The rings commemorated their thrilling victory over the Eagles, a game that was decided by a final-second touchdown and ended 38-35. The rings are truly amazing, have a total of 609 round diamonds, 16 baguette diamonds, four marquise diamonds, and 35 rubies, weighing a total of 16.10 carats. But that’s not all! There’s a secret feature too- the top part of the ring can be taken off and worn as a pendant. On removal, a miniature version of Arrowhead Stadium and a quote appears from the team’s founder, Lamar Hunt.

The rings have many details that reflect the Chiefs’ journey and identity. They display the player’s name ‘Mahomes’ and number ‘15’, representing the star quarterback who led the team to glory. They also show the phrase “Chiefs Kingdom”, expressing the pride and loyalty of the fans and the community. The rings have the word “Edge” engraved on them, reminding the players of Coach Andy Reid’s motto for the season: to constantly stay ahead of their opponents. The rings also list the scores of the Chiefs’ three playoff victories, highlighting their resilience and determination. The rings are more than just jewelry; they are a testament to the Chiefs’ excellence and legacy in the NFL.

Who pays for Super Bowl Rings?

The Super Bowl ring, a symbol of NFL history, originated in 1967 when the Packers beat the Chiefs. It is a priceless reward for the winning team, honoring their dedication and achievement. The rings are typically made of gold and diamonds, and they showcase the team logo, name, Super Bowl number, and score. It has evolved over time, becoming more extravagant and costly, as teams compete to have the most impressive design and size. The NFL covers part of the cost of the rings, but the team or the jeweler has to pay for the rest.
