Since time immemorial, the NFL has been shown to change player’s life. Recently, in an unforeseen turn of events, one of the New York Giants’ QB contracts has come under scrutiny. It boils down to the player in question’s massive form slump in lieu of the 2023 season.

What needs to be seen is whether the Giants go forth with the promised contract amount, or is there a change in the plans coming ahead in the new season. Daniel Jones, one of the Giants veterans faces a $160 million contract burning question. Things went bad to worse for the QB as the side was annihilated in a comprehensive manner by the Dallas Cowboys. Fans have now turned against Jones. The 2019 Senior Bowl MVP winner now faces the pressure to justify his contract extension.

The last 15 hours or so for the NY Giants have been horrendous. They suffered a humiliating loss against the Cowboys that saw them lose by 40 points. Giants veteran quarterback Daniel Jones was in the middle of it all. He received a $160 million contract during the offseason which is now hurting Giants big time.

The Giants were in talks about altering the massive contract extension. They’ve provided a model for the same by creating $6.315 million through cap space. By doing so, Giants proposed new revised figures. The team would be looking to convert $8.42 million of QB’s salary into a signing bonus. Furthermore, the revision will perhaps balloon Jones’ cap figures to a new cap of $2.105 million for the next three years. However, as the Cowboys crushed the side, Jones faced the wrath of fans.

It was a forgetful night for the NY Giants and their offense. The match saw the Cowboys completely deflate their opposition in a pretty one-sided affair. Fans were naturally upset and demanded questions from one of the highest-paid QBs going around in the league. The fans came down hard on the player who kept a straight face during the pressers.

Another user mocked Jones by writing “Let’s check in on Daniel Jones tonight vs. the Cowboys defense.”  What lies in hindsight is to see how the HC Brian Daboll picks his side up and exudes positivism after a crushing loss.

Week 1 included everything. Some upsets, close encounters, behind-the-back wins, and one-sided affairs. The Giants’ latest loss leaves lots to be answered by the coach and captain. In the middle of it all Jones needs to pick himself up and put his best foot forward going ahead in the competition.
