Patrick Mahomes is in the thick of training camp. The reigning Super Bowl champion is going all in with the intense practice sessions that kicked off on 23 July last week in St.Joseph at Western Missouri University.
Beyond gracing the eyes of his avid fans during the sessions, he also took time to create cherished memories for his little admirers. In a touching gesture, he made the day for the children gathered there to witness their favorite star in action. The moment was heartwarming as it stands in stark contrast to a recent awkward moment of Super Bowl champion with a young fan at the American Century Championship.

Patrick Mahomes captivating young hearts
While competing in the celebrity golf tournament last week, Mahomes ran into an awkward moment with a child, who asked for his autograph. Mahomes refused the request explaining that he had been instructed during one of his rounds not to sign for everyone to save time. Turning down the request of a fan come off as a blemish on the QB’s otherwise reputation of being a humble figure. However, Mahomes once again proved that he never fails to delight his fans whenever he has the opportunity.

Mahomes shared a heartwarming clip on his Instagram story where he was seen with a crowd of young children at the training sessions. The Chiefs captain was seen grinning ear to ear when he took the rugby balls from the children’s hands and proceeded to sign. The kids were equally elated, cheering loudly as they received autographs from their idol.

While the gesture made a cherishing memory for the young fans, it also seemed to mend any lingering discomfort of the ‘autograph incident’ at the Century championship for the quarterback.
Can’t make everybody happy, says Mahomes
Despite countless heartwarming incidents, sometimes awkward moments happen with the fans just like the celebrity tournament incident, the QB himself is aware. “Can’t sign for everyone, can’t make everybody happy”, Mahomes said to the disappointment of the child, at the tournament when he turned down the request to sign his autograph,

However, the father of the young child continued, “Yeah, you can, you can just make one kid happy out of a hundred.” to which Mahomes retorted, “I’ll make 99 sad,”. Sure there are clunky moments here and there, but Mahomes is still a fan favorite as he has proved countless times.
