Taylor Swift knows how to make the ground tremble. The 12-time Grammy winner attended the Chicago Bears-Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday. By doing so, she created quite a buzz amid rumors that she is dating Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ celebrated tight end.

It isn’t clear whether the stars — both of whom are 33 years old — are dating or are just friends. It may also be that each is trying to leverage the other’s stardom. This has, however, not prevented fans from dissecting the duo’s dating lives and failed relationships. As Swift watched from the luxury suite at Arrowhead Stadium in the company of his mother, the Chiefs closed out the Bears 41-10.

Swift’s fans rise to the occasion

The star power was on full display when the numbers started tumbing in. Front Office Sports compiled a list of stats that showed the impact of Swift’s presence.

The FOX broadcast of Chiefs vs. Bears drew in over 24 million viewers. This was the most-watched game of the week. The match particularly attracted the attention of female audiences. Some Swift fans admitted they were watching football for the first time. The broadcaster saw a growth in female viewership, up over 8 percent from Week 3 in 2022.

Roku also estimated a spike in the percentage of women watching. In the 18–49-year demography, the data showed a 63% increase in the number of women who watched the game over the Chiefs-Jacksonville Jaguars encounter last week.

Travis Kelce merchandise sales go through the roof

The spike in interest in football did not leave Kelce unaffected. Fanatics witnessed an almost 400 percent in the tight end’s jersey sales, making him one of the bestsellers of the NFL.

By all accounts, he is a leading sportsperson with 3.2 million followers on Instagram. However, he is not in the same league as Swift, who has a humongous 273-million following on the social media platform. Swift broke up with actor Joe Alwyn earlier this year. Her Eras Tour has broken concert records, and attendant fans even caused some seismic activity in Seattle.

Swift, who had donned the Chiefs’ colors, was later seen leaving the stadium with Kelce. It will be interesting to see if Swift, who also has a home in New York, goes to watch the Chiefs’ next game against the local favorite New York Jets.

The New England Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, said on a radio show that Kelce has had many big catches in his career, but this one would be the biggest.
