Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown has a knack for getting under the spotlight. And most of the time, it is for doing or saying something many consider distasteful. He is cryptic with a lot of his Tweets as well, adding another layer of possible misunderstanding for fans. His latest message is no different. In a recent Tweet, he shares a verse from what is possibly another one of his rap ventures. And featuring in the lines is Seattle Seahawks’ Geno Smith. Smith was quick to acknowledge and show his support for the infamous receiver.

Brown recently entangled himself in a controversy after refusing to step down as President of Kanye West’s sporting brand, Donda Sports. This came as a result of West making some pretty controversial and anti-Semitic statements, which led to the brand losing key NFL players as ambassadors. But, Brown stuck with West and even released an official statement wherein he said that Kanye’s words were taken out of context.

And this is not his first offense either. Brown is also under fire for posting a photo of him hugging a former friend and teammate Tom Brady‘s now ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, right in the middle of Brady’s marital struggles.

Adding to his infamous escapades, he also exposed himself to pool guests while at a hotel in Dubai. On top of that, the Dubai police have also charged him with stealing jewelery worth around $122k.

Antonio Brown attracts response from Geno Smith

AB‘s Tweet did not take long to become the centrepiece for the day’s proceedings, as the NFL community tore itself apart like it always does. Geno Smith himself acknowledged the tweet by Brown. The reactions of fans were all over the spectrum. While some outrightly asked Smith not to associate himself with the disgraced rapper, a lot many are expecting, even hoping, that AB ends up with the Seattle Seahawks.

Since his abrupt exit from the NFL earlier this year, rumors are that Brown is trying to wriggle his way back. But given the massive PR headache he brings with him, it will be very difficult for a manager to even consider him. On the contrary, his first few seasons gave the NFL community ample evidence of his prowess and skill as a receiver. Will any manager consider it worth the risk to bring him back to the NFL?
