Notably, Nationwide has been sponsoring the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award (WPMOY) for nine years now. They ran a social media challenge, called WPMOY challenge to crown the winner, who made an impact to improve the lives of other people. Recently, Mahomes won the challenge, and fans could not contain their joy.

Earlier, the official Twitter handle of the Chiefs’ posted the news about Mahomes winning the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. Moreover, $25,000 will be donated to Mahomes’ foundation, ’15 and the Mahomies’.

After winning the award, Mahomes said in a press conference, “It is a tremendous honor to win this year’s Charity Challenge… Since before I joined the League, it has been a goal of mine to make a lasting impact on the communities that have given so much to me.”
He further thanked everyone for voting for him and helping his foundation achieve great success over the years. “Together, we are making a lasting impact on kids in underserved communities,” Mahomes added more.
On the other hand, the Chiefs grabbed the overall no.1 seed in the AFC division and will get a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Many experts are predicting the Chiefs vs the Eagles Super Bowl final, which could be a spicey affair.
