Amongst the full-fledged slate of Week 2 Football games, the Kansas City Chiefs will be going against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. After the 21-20 loss against the Detroit Lions, many are hoping to see the magic of Chiefs star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, back in the field. The Jacksonville Jaguars had a good start in Week 1 as they dominated the Indianapolis Colts with a 31-21 victory. So, it’s an exciting ball night upcoming in a few hours.

Interestingly, Patrick Mahomes will be celebrating his birthday on the same day as the Chiefs game as well. So, the fans have big expectations from the Chiefs QB’s performance today, as he seemed hurt by their previous loss. So, it begs the question, will Mahomes enter the field with his MVP form?

In the NFL GameDay Morning, the Sunday Storylines session started with a conversation about the game between the Chiefs and Jaguars. The segment was initiated by the former Football coach, Steve Mariucci, where he put up a question for all the Chiefs fans. He asked, “Will Patrick Mahomes return to MVP form today against the Jags?

Then, he also went on to inform the panel that in the span of 57 years, it has been only a four-time occurrence when the defending champions had an “0-2” start. Now, there’s a chance that the Chief could become the fifth one to hold that crown. Then Mooch also said, “But hey [Travis] Kelce is coming back, Chris Jones is coming back and our guy, Patrick Mahomes, birthday boy is going to get back on tracker.

The Chiefs shot caller is prepared to redeem his last week’s loss, and has declared that he wouldn’t let it bring him down in the game against the Jags.

Mahomes wants the team to be at its best this Sunday

In a recent press conference, Mahomes has talked about how it’s quite difficult to predict the NFL games. Mahomes mentioned that any team could win against any team, and the only thing that matters is whether you were at your best coordination throughout the game or not. After this, he stated that he wouldn’t let the loss affect his performance much, and focus on the games coming ahead.

Mahomes said, “Obviously you want to win that first game, but you didn’t so you kind of have to just wash that from your mind and get on to the next game. And try to make yourself better, so you can get out there and get a win.” So this definitely increases a lot of expectations from the upcoming Sunday.
