The internet has been taken by storm by viral 10-year-old football sensation, Baby Gronk. Madden San Miguel, who is better known by his alter ego, recently broke the internet over a photo with NCAA star Olivia Dunne back in March. And ever since, there seems to be no stopping for this 10-year-old kid. Nicknamed after the retired TE Rob Gronkowski, Baby Gronk now boasts over 300k followers on social media. And the mastermind behind this marketing is Madden’s own father. During an interview with the Athletic, he spoke about how his son is “programmed” for success while talking about training him since 6 years old. And if this wasn’t enough, many sports personalities have called out Baby Gronk’s father for persistently sliding into their DMS to boost his son’s image.
Even free-agent OT Taylor Lewan shared a screenshot of how Baby Gronk’s father reached out to him on Instagram to try and get him on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast. In the end, according to his father, NFL is the ultimate goal of this whole marketing. But it led to Lewan’s co-host of the podcast publicly calling out Gronk’s father for using his son in the content marketing space.

The free-agent NFL linebacker recently took to Twitter to share a video where he is not supportive of Baby Gronk’s father using his child for internet fame. In the video, he talked about how he felt the father was using the situation to exploit his son for social clout, status, money, fame and to fill a void that you couldn’t fill on your own”. Compton also talked about how they won’t be invited to the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast despite repeated DMs from Baby Gronk’s father to him. This led to Baby Gronk’s father firing back at Compton in a tweet, stating, “You do content. You get paid for the internet. That’s all we’re doing. It’s a new day, a new generation.” He then went on to talk about how his kid still enjoys being a kid, while still doing “a little workout.”

And now, the 33-year-old fired another shot at the father in a recent tweet. Will Compton shared a tweet where we see a picture of a tombstone that says, “In memory of: Baby Gronk’s Dad” with the hashtag “#RIPBabyGronksDad”. He wrote in the caption, “Lot to unpack on tomorrow’s @BussinWTB podcast”. It seems that Compton is gearing up and lacing his cleats to dissect the whole Baby Gronk scenario in the next episode of his podcast with Taylor Lewan.
But while Compton decides to carry on his war against Baby Gronk’s father, fans were left feeling divided over the attention the NFL LB is giving to the situation.
Fans feeling divided over Baby Gronk callout by Compton
Fans took to the tweet to share their divided perspective on the situation surrounding Baby Gronk. Some fans feel that Compton is giving Baby Gronk’s dad exactly what he wants. And that is more publicity.
“You’re giving him exactly what he wants. Sorry to say you took the L on this one.”
“He’s accomplishing his goal with all you guys and ladies continuing to talk about him. That’s all he wants.”
“So he’s getting his podcast after all lol. Negative publicity is still publicity”
