Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him as the third-round pick in 2010. And now he retires with 704 receptions, 9,245 yards, and 51 touchdowns. Also, ‘Easy Money’ appeared in three Super Bowls and won Super Bowl 50.
“I’m proud to stand up here and tell you … that I chased down this dream and it was a hell of a ride,” the retired WR said. “The game of football is tough on the body, and you know I lost a close friend in Demaryius Thomas,” the death of his longtime friend, Demaryius Thomas, influenced his decision. “And for me, it’s about longevity of life now. I had a heck of a career, 12 years, three Super Bowls. I feel like what else do I have to prove?”
It seems like Sanders is happy chasing his kids around the house than chasing any more passes.
Fans on Twitter bid Emmanuel Sanders goodbye
