Throughout his 23-year NFL career, Tom Brady has time and again proved that he is indeed the best. While many sports analysts and aspiring NFL athletes have tried deciphering and arguing why Brady is the best ever, seldom do people look at how Brady became the greatest. Sure we can argue all the statistics and the career accolades TB12 has harbored over the years, but how much of the behind-the-scenes are we actually aware of?

A major part of the longevity of Tom Brady’s illustrious career goes back to his lifestyle. Whether it’s his detail-oriented workout routines or the food that he uses as fuel, Tom Brady is a man of routine. But, even the NFL GOAT might need some days to sit back and relax.

Tom Brady owes a lot of his success to his dietary habits. It was probably a flex on Brady’s side to share his secrets with the rest of the world in his book, The TB12 Method, yet manage to stay on top of the food chain. Brady and his diet is a mixture of Eastern and Western philosophies, and even though the regimen might feel restrictive to a certain extent, the results speak for themselves.

Hydration is a major part of the program, and Brady makes sure to drink at least 12-25 glasses of water a day. Next comes the 80/20 approach. Over 80% of TB12’s diet consists of vegetables while the other 20% is meat-based.

However, even a legend as committed as Tom Brady might need to let loose every once in a while, and TB12 doesn’t refrain from enjoying his delicacies during those cheat periods.

If I’m craving bacon, I have a piece. Same with pizza. You should never restrict what you really want. We’re humans, here for one life,” expressed Brady.

However, the quality of those cheat meals still remains a top priority for the legendary QB, “What’s changed as I’ve gotten older is now if I want pizza, I want the best pizza. I don’t eat a slice that tastes like sh*t and then wonder, ‘Why am I eating sh*t pizza?‘”

While Brady’s diet is enough to fascinate most, the same holds true for his workout regimen.

The TB12 regimen

Tom Brady retired at the age of 44 and his longevity was defined by his strength and immaculate body balance. With a fast-paced game like football, TB12’s workout mostly revolved around strength and cardio, keeping him in peak season form all year long.
