Dallas Cowboys pulled off a surprising win against Minnesota Vikings in their week 8 fixture. The win was a special one as Dak Prescott was sidelined with a tweaked calf injury that had not perfectly healed since his week 6 matchup against the Patriots and instead got replaced by Cooper Rush.
However, backup quarterback Cooper Rush rose to the occasion to lead the Cowboys to a 16-20 win, absolutely taking everyone as a surprise. His astonishing spell did not seem as if it was his first start in the NFL.

Cooper Rush leading the Dallas Cowboys to victory
Twitter exploded with reactions to Cooper and the defensive display by the Cowboys. Cooper put on a show throwing 24 of 40 attempts, covering 325 yards with two touchdowns and a turnover. It played out perfectly, as the Cowboys had expected it to be during their star quarterback’s absence.

The team’s long-time backup QB was given the nod for a perfect opportunity to start, and he used every single bit of that moment. However, Cooper was well assisted by some of the key offensive weapons of the Cowboys, even without the likes of the All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith, who picked up an ankle injury during the game.

Dak Prescott will return next week
The seemingly incomplete Cowboys squad appeared complete on Sunday and them sealing the victory proved it well enough. Prescott’s questionable status did ring alarm bells to the Cowboys fans, but it was nothing but a precautionary effort to check on his calf injury.
Cooper Rush looks he would play Carson Wentz in a movie about the Eagles' Super Bowl run https://t.co/5qDvkPerKa

Cowboys offense is a fine tuned machine. You’ll need to outscore them to beat them. Cooper Rush made some big time throws, played well tonite.

The star quarterback will be perfectly fine by the time they go up against the Broncos in week 9. But judging the backup’s performance, it can easily be concluded that Cooper himself can take care of the Broncos. Surely, the Cowboys have great expectations from Rush as he made sure to carry on the winning streak of the team to five games against the Vikings.
