Green Bay Packers put a stop to Arizona Cardinals’ rampaging undefeated run in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers and Co beat them 24-21, but the deciding moment of the game came in the final seconds. Rasul Douglas, a seemingly unheard cornerback picked a pass off AJ Green and gave Green Bay a huge win.

Born and raised in East Orange, New Jersey, Rasul Douglas grew up in a household with his grandmother and six siblings. His college career began at Nassau Community College, and after impressing scouts there, he landed up in West Virginia University. He impressed there as well, which led to him entering the NFL with a superb defensive record.

Selected by Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2017 draft, Douglas went unnoticed in several games until he picked off a pass from the great Eli Manning. That move led to the Eagles beating the Giants 27-24, and pushed them towards the Super Bowl. With the Eagles, Douglas won his first Super Bowl, but it probably won’t be his only one.

In 2020, Douglas ping-ponged off a bunch of franchises, and almost ended up being a Cardinal for the 2021 season. Arizona signed him to their practice squad, but never gave him a start. That ended until he came to Green Bay, where he had to only wait three weeks to make his first start.

Douglas came to Green Bay on October 6th, and his first start came on October 28th. In his first start, he picked off a Kyler Murray pass, headed straight to AJ Green. Had Green caught the pass, the game would’ve ended in Arizona’s favor. Hence, we can safely say that Rasul Douglas, from East Orange, New Jersey, single-handedly rescued Green Bay from a devastating loss.

If you rescue his team, you’re getting a shout out from the main man. In his post-match interview with Erin Andrews, Aaron Rodgers had some decent words for his team’s savior.

“The guy that made the pick was with him for four weeks. He was on the street; we brought him in, he’s starting for us. He’s a great dude, and he’s really meshed well with our team. And to come up with a play like that with fifteen seconds left is just incredible.”

With a performance like that, we sincerely hope Douglas is a regular starter for the Packers. Performances like these win games, and for the Packers to win the Super Bowl, they need to perform like this every week.
