Jameis Winston was known for his interceptions and hurried decision-making. His immaturity was regarded as the primary reason why some people considered him a bust. But his journey from 3rd seated QB to starter with the Saints has seen Winston grow and show much more composure, maturity, and understanding of what is required out of him. 

In his latest big feat, he takes the field against none other than Tom Brady and the mighty Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Given that both those entities have not had much success against the Saints in the regular season, but still what the Former Tampa quarterback has undertaken is insane, almost.

Winston, 28, is playing with not one or two, but four fractures in his back. Not advised to be emulated at all. But yes, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, Winston will take the field with special padding to protect his back. Although the insider reported that there is minimal risk of any further damage, he did say Winston will be playing under a lot of pain.

Even though the 28-year-old has not had a great start to his NFL career, as he was switching teams and getting benched, he has certainly grown into a much more composed on-field presence. Even when things aren’t going his way, he looks to be in control and acts without hesitation. But with intent and instinct.

The passer is gifted, which he has shown time and again throughout his career. But his mental mistakes caused a lot of trouble for his defenses and then for the team as a whole. With a more composed and calmer outlook, Winston could very well become a problem in the NFC. Especially as he takes the field against his former team, with all the odds with him to take home the victory.

And that too while Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback ever, is the one playing for your former team, in your former seat. So if Winston can win this Sunday, it’ll be more than a moral victory. It will be a vengeance of sorts.
