The New York Jets have a lot of work lined up for the off-season training. With new players lining up for their debut in the 2023 season, the team will be looking forward to making sure of building a strong roster to take forward their hopes of a Super Bowl season. But their recent major signing, 4X MVP QB Aaron Rodgers, is already missing out on OTAs because of a sprained calf. On the other hand, Breece Hall is also seen rehabbing from his surgery, expecting to start alongside Rodgers.
Amidst all the off-season workouts and hype, another scary incident took place. This incident also involved their 76-year-old billionaire owner. This incident could have led to him being injured during the OTA himself. So what went down with the billionaire?
Woody Johnson almost brought down during training

Woody Johnson’s Instagram account is known for posting about the Jets rather than himself. And after the recent acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, he has been posting a lot of shots of their newly acquired Super Bowl-winning QB. Amidst posting about the 39-year-old QB, Johnson also recently shared a clip of the OTAs that involved him as well as 2022 Rookie Offensive Player of the Year Garrett Wilson.

In the clip, we see the 22-year-old wide receiver rushing down the field to grab a pass, As he manages to grab the ball, he comes in contact with a cone, making him lose his balance. As he falls, he nearly takes Woody Johnson along with him too, as he was watching the training from the sidelines. In what is a very close call, Johnson managed to move to the side to let Wilson recover from his fall. Johnson captioned the video, “Had to thank Garrett Wilson for not taking me out there” while tagging the WR in the caption.
And this is not the only highlight of the recent OTAs. Amidst all the activities, we also saw Aaron Rodgers in a rehabilitation process to be fit to take part in the OTAs properly.

Aaron Rodgers working on his fitness
During the Jets’ training activities on Wednesday, Aaron Rodgers also made an appearance. While nursing his calf back to full health, we saw him coaching young wide receivers and giving them advice on how to make certain types of runs on the field. He was also making 50-yard passes to one of the Jets’ staff members while continuing to rehab from his injury. Prior to this, HC Robert Saleh stated to the press that the injury is not very critical and they can expect their newly acquired QBs’ proper participation in the OTAs from next week. Aaron Rodgers has already missed four straight days of practice. And the team will be hoping to get him back on track at the earliest.
