Amid the current contractual topsy-turvy in the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson saga leading to the quarterback seeking a trade last month, the NFL world remains in a state of chaotic confusion. However, these long-drawn negotiations clearly aren’t taxing enough for the Heisman-winning passer, who chose to get back in touch with his roots, paying a deaf ear to the online discussions.

Lamar Jackson gave some guys in Florida the time of their lives when he joined their catch-and-throw football session at the local field yesterday. And the Purple Rain fans were stunned to have an NFL quarterback throwing effortless dimes at them.

After the Baltimore Ravens placed him under the non-exclusive franchise tag, allowing Lamar to seek out offers from other teams, the quarterback announced on Twitter that he wanted a trade from his franchise. Lamar threw two precise dimes in the Instagram stories of Christopher Clive Ebersold, who caught one of them himself. “The goat throwing me a go route,” he captioned the story, before posting a group picture with the 2019 NFL MVP standing in the middle.

They could trade up from their 22nd pick this year to land one of the better quarterbacks. But that would still leave the snap-line problem hanging. Baltimore also has a cornerback issue. And they need to address all this under a tight $6.13 million cap space budget.

On Wednesday’s pre-draft press conference, Ravens GM Eric DeCosta clarified that they are not really “looking at QB differently in the draft because of Lamar. However, DeCosta also said that the franchise wants to go for a quarterback in the first round. Depending on how far up they can trade and how their board feels about the call.
