While other signal-callers were roasting each other on Twitter, Patrick Mahomes had a different view on the matter. The Chiefs QB happens to be a decent golfer who will team with Josh Allen and face off Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady’s partnership in the opposition.

Patrick Mahomes is confident about winning the match

Interestingly, this year’s exhibition match will witness four of the last five NFL MVPs competing at the same time on a golf course. As soon as Tom Brady tweeted about the line-ups for the event, Patrick Mahomes seemed happy to play with Josh Allen against the veteran quarterbacks. “This should be fun,” Mahomes tweeted on Monday.

Mahomes is reportedly a 7.7 handicap, according to Golf.com. Moreover, the star is optimistic about his chances for a win and believes in his abilities. While talking to NFL Network’s James Palmer, Mahomes said that his pair’s relative youthfulness will have its advantages.

Mahomes and his partner Allen’s combined age is nearly 51, while that of Rodgers and Brady is 82. So this gap of generations will be a plus point; however, the experience also matters, which Brady and Rodgers have in surplus.

“I think the reason we’re going to win is we’re going to be able to play the course a little differently than old Tom and old Aaron over there. They’re going to be playing it nice and easy. They might get us on a couple of par-3s and stuff like that, but whenever we can open it up and use the drivers, it’s going to be nice to be able to use our little wedges while they’re using their 6-irons. That’ll help us a bit.” Mahomes added to his statement.

Last year, Mahomes surprised everyone with a 350 yards long drive. He was participating in the American Century Championship Long Drive Competition. “Didn’t say I was good at golf, but I can hit it far,” Mahomes had tweeted after the event.

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Josh Allen were busy roasting each other

The first person to set the stage for trash-talking was Tom Brady. “An artist rendering of me watching Josh Allen’s approach after laying up on a par 4” Brady tweeted on Monday with a photoshopped picture of what to be his son playing golf and wearing a Bills helmet. The shot was taken at the Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Reverting to the remark, “(With two laughing emojis) at least he didn’t put me in Brady Brand’s apparel” Allen made a savage tweet in return.

While Aaron Rodgers was weighing the abilities of other quarterbacks. According to him, the line-ups were not great to have an actual fight. With so much hype created for the event, it would be a visual treat for the NFL fans to enjoy. The fifth edition of “The Match” is scheduled to take place at the Wynn Golf Club at Wynn Las Vegas on the 1st of June.
