Few college players make it to the NFL, and even fewer do it with the same partner by their side at all times. That, however, is the saga of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his longstanding girlfriend Brittany Matthews.

Mahomes and Matthews, who have been inseparable since they were teenagers, form an athletic juggernaut that Chiefs fans appreciate. Patrick Mahomes and his fiancée Brittany Matthews have had a wonderful year. Their cherishable relationship began when they were teenagers, and since then, Patrick and Brittany are on a roll! Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews began dating when they were in high school at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. They were both promising student-athletes. When Mahomes was in 10th grade, the couple began dating.

Brittany has highlighted the couple’s earlier years on Instagram in previous posts dating back to 2011 when she was a high school cheerleader and Mahomes was a baseball player. The couple has been very supportive, cheering one another at many sporting events, including Matthews’ soccer matches. They also went to high celebrations and other events together, such as prom.

However, there came a point when Matthews graduated from high school in 2013. She played college soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler. Patrick Mahomes graduated in 2014, played college football and baseball at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, which is 440 miles away.

Despite the tremendous distance, the couple remains inseparable. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Mahomes in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2017. Meanwhile, Matthews graduated with a kinesiology degree and signed a professional soccer contract with UMF Afturelding/Fram in Iceland in the same year.

While residing in Kansas City, the couple began their journey to achieve their dreams. Brittany became a certified fitness trainer and launched her fitness website, ‘Brittany Lynne Fitness,’ in 2019, as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl LIV.

A splendid cap-off to the narrative

In September 2020, the Chiefs quarterback proposed to Matthews after over eight years of dating. In a VIP box at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mahomes got down on one knee with an illuminated text that read, ‘Will you marry me?’ Sterling Skye, the couple’s first child, was born in February 2021.

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews will have their wedding in Hawaii, and the quarterback chooses brother Jackson Mahomes to be the Best Man. The couple kicked off their wedding week with some festivities, and Matthews shared the images of the happy family.

Brittany is officially Mrs. Mahomes and they make the new beginning in their life as a husband and wife after 11 years of togetherness.
