NFL franchise Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovaiola having a rocky start to his NFL career is probably an understatement. The 23-year-old entered the NFL with a lot of hype and excitement but hasn’t yet hit the ground running. The 2021 NFL season also was one that enveloped the young QB into more drama unwillingly. Trade rumors about Texans’ outcast QB Deshaun Watson to the Dolphins were rife and constant.

Tua did feel overlooked at times during the season by both former head coach Brian Flores and the Dolphins organization. The talented young QB did find himself trapped in a complex situation. But their quick end to the 2021 campaign might have been disappointing on the field but off the field, the organization feels positive. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross by firing coach Flores has handed Tua the keys to their kingdom.
As per NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, Tua will be back with the Dolphins in 2022 with the starting QB role. The news did have a mixed reception among Miami fans on social media.

Putting the chips down on Tua Tagovaiola?
Following these reports, the Dolphins would effectively end any thoughts of searching for a replacement. They would have under those circumstances scanned in either free agency or more so the 2022 NFL Draft. The move is also rumored to be due to the fact that the Dolphins owner was never the one pushing for Watson.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it was Flores who was looking to recruit the Texans QB and bring him to Miami. The interest from Watson and desire to play for Flores was also a pulling factor for Watson to go to the Dolphins. The ball now does fall in the court of Ross, who will be searching for a new coach to lead his team.

The Miami team does have a great roster that has enormous potential, but Tua’s smooth integration is necessary to take the Dolphins to the next level. The key for Miami is to find someone who can keep Tua happy and bring the happy times back to South Beach.
