The Dallas Cowboys overcame the great Tom Brady in the NFC Wild Card Round of the playoffs. And it doesn’t get easy for them in the divisional round too. They have a run-in with the best defense in the league in the San Francisco 49ers. But the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has full confidence in his QB Dak Prescott. Jones is hyping up Prescott’s dominance over the Niners’ defense as the clash nears. But will the QB be able to live up to it?

In a recent interview, the Cowboys’ billionaire owner Jerry Jones played up Dak Prescott‘s abilities that will help him dominate the Niners’ defense.

While speaking with ‘105.3 The Fan’ radio station, Jones, said that everyone saw the triple threat that Prescott brings to the game. “I think what you saw there [Monday] night, we’re going to get to see a lot of when we play San Francisco in terms of him keeping the ball and relying on that triple threat that he can have,” Jones said. The 80-year-old said that if the Cowboys QB can be healthy enough to do it again, the Niners’ defense will struggle against him in the playoff clash.

“If we could get it, if he’s healthy enough to do it, his being able to instinctively take that ball and run with it … is really a dimension that [the 49ers’] defense has a difficult time adjusting to,” Jones continued.

The Niners have one of the best defenses in recent NFL history. They have strangled the best of offenses throughout the regular season. But the playoffs are a different ball game altogether. And as Jones said, Prescott has shown that ability against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Obliterating the Buccaneers’ defense

The Buccaneers boast of a great defense although, to be fair, they didn’t get into their usual groove this season. And the Cowboys’ offense, led by Dak Prescott, blew them out of the water. The Buccaneers didn’t get a single takeaway from the Cowboys’ offense and that showed on the scoreline.

Prescott scored four passing touchdowns in the game. And he complimented it with a rushing TD, the fact that Jerry Jones pointed out as a threat he possesses. The Cowboys won 31-14. The score would have been greater if the Cowboys kicker Brett Maher did not miss four out of five PAT attempts.
