The biggest lesson from his decorated career, according to TB12, is not taking things for granted.
The former New England Patriots QB deliberated on the seriousness of the Damar Hamlin situation. Hamlin collapsed on-field in the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a cardiac arrest. Damar received CPR and got transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

“We love what we do. We love playing. And you don’t always think of the consequences of playing. When I had my ACL, I didn’t take it for granted anymore,” Brady said in his most recent press conference ahead of the Atlanta Falcons game.
“I hope he recovers. Hopefully, no one takes anything for granted. This is a very challenging sport. A very physical sport. It’s just a very tough incident for all of us to grasp,” the NFL’s most-successful QB said.
Damar Hamlin has TB12 and the entire NFL world’s prayers working for him
Tom Brady wasn’t the only one who found it tough to handle the incident. Damar’s own uncle cried uncontrollably after watching his nephew collapse. However, he also said that Damar’s health was on an upward trajectory. The Bills and Bengals game was initially suspended after the incident. And the NFL yesterday officially declared the matchup, canceled. Especially since the game’s outcome will not affect any other teams’ playoff chances.

The NFL also didn’t wish to delay the playoffs by an entire week because of the rescheduled Buffalo-Cincinnati game. And even though the full Josh Allen-Joe Burrow fight would have been a battle of the ages, the fans of the sport will have to wait until the star QBs meet again down the road.

Damar Hamlin has regained consciousness. And on waking up, his first written communication with the medical staff was an enquiry about the game. He asked who won. And the UCMC doctors replied, “You won, Damar. You won the game of life.“
