As the trade deadline approaches near, NFL teams are in a hurry to make up for the deficit and add more value to their offensive and defensive units. The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently seeking trade for their wide receiver Chase Claypool for a hefty price in exchange for draft picks, just like the recent Christian McCaffrey deal.

On Thursday, the Panthers surprised the fans with yet another trade, days after they sent Robbie Anderson to the Cardinals. Well, this time, it was their star running back Christian McCaffrey in exchange for second-, third-, and fourth-round picks in 2023 and a fifth-round pick in 2024.

While this trade got executed, a similar deal is supposedly on the table. Steelers wideout Chase Claypool happens to be the prospect who was reportedly available in the preseason for trade, and the executives were looking for him.

Although the trade didn’t work out back then, the third-year receiver is available for an affordable price. However, the draft picks exchange seems extreme. Moreover, it is expected to be at par with CMC’s trade, and the Packers are reportedly showing interest in this talent.

“Financially, this would be an easy one for the cap-strapped Packers. He is in Year 3 of his rookie deal, so has base salaries of $1.21 million in 2021 and $1.51 million in 2023,” Bill Huber of SI reported.

“The draft cost would be huge, though. According to a league executive who makes trades for his team, the cost could be about on par with the McCaffrey trade, with “multiple” second-round picks, a third, and a fifth. Not that Aaron Rodgers cares about future draft picks,” he added to his explanation.

Although there aren’t any cap adjustments required for executing Claypool’s trade, the draft choices are comparable for No 1 receivers in the league. However, looking at his records, the Notre Dame product doesn’t look like a hot catch apart from his nine touchdowns in the rookie season.

Fans claimed that he was not the same as CMC.

Moreover, fans couldn’t get through his trade price.

If the trade gets executed with the Packers adding a new weapon to the receiver corps, it will certainly prove to be a win-win situation for both teams. Further updates on the matter are yet to arrive; hopefully, in the next few hours, fans can get more clarity on this issue.
