Shannon Sharpe, a former NFL tight end and Hall of Famer, was suspicious of Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll’s unusual behavior during his press conference. Sharpe openly chastised Carroll for being too quick to judge former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

It appears that Carroll seems to be backing down from his claims of considering recruiting Kaepernick for the Seahawks. He was visibly ready back in 2020 when he did make claims about having no hesitation in signing the QB if Wilson was unfit to play. But Carroll seems to have backtracked on his desire to bring Kaepernick to Seattle and was questioning if he will be back playing football.
The move for Kaepernick appears a no-brainer for Seattle who only possesses two other QBs in Drew Lock and Geno Smith. Both players might not be the best, but there remains an argument on if they are better than the former Niners‘ QB. Shannon believes that Carroll isn’t himself ready to give Kaepernick a chance to make a comeback with Seattle.
Shannon Sharpe in disbelief over Carroll not giving Kaepernick an opportunity
During his appearance on the FS1 Undisputed show, Sharpe states, “I can see if he had a Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, or one of these guys…He make it seem like he got a Top 5 or a Top 10 QB at his disposal…Why are you bringing him up if he doesn’t deserve an opportunity on your team or even deserves an opportunity in football? What the bleep are you talking about Pete?”
Sharpe believes that Carroll didn’t have to bring the subject of Kaepernick without even any provocation. He feels it is perplexing to talk about players and share details about things that never should have come out in public to start with.
While Kaepernick continues his wait in the wings for a second chance, Carroll seems to have more faith in the QBs on his roster.

It is funny yet true about how NFL coaches backtrack, and Sharpe rips into Carroll for his confusing comments. The Seahawks head coach’s conference was bizarre, to begin with, and has only thrown a spanner into the works for their fans before the start of the 2022 NFL campaign.
