When Aaron Rodgers was asked to name the NFL’s most terrifying defensive player, without hesitation, just one name came out of his mouth, and that was Ndamukong Suh. The Green Bay Packers quarterback was a victim of Suh’s reckless play in 2014.

After getting twice stepped up by Suh on-field, Rodgers had one of the worst experiences against a defensive end. Subsequently, Suh was banned for a game but changed to $70,000 after a successful appeal by the Lions’ defensive tackle.
Ndamukong Suh pressed his foot on Aaron Rodgers twice
The incident took place during the week 17 match of the 2014 season when the Packers and Detroit Lions came face to face. Suh, being the defensive tackle for the Lions; stepped foot on Rodgers’ weak ankles twice in the game.

The Packers officially filed a complaint in this regard, and Suh got banned for his next game. However, Suh defended all the allegations and claimed that he couldn’t identify Rodgers’s legs on the ground because the climate at Lambeau field was too cold, and his feet became too numb to react.
The plea turned out to be a success for the DE as the punishment was decreased to a $70,000 fine. But the Packers QB was unhappy with the decision and sarcastically approached the NFL committee’s statement.
“The only thing I can say is if you step on something in your everyday life or if you step on somebody on the field, the first reaction seems to be looking back and maybe apologizing with your hands or maybe pulling your foot back right away,” Rodgers reacted to the statement.

Well, it turns out, that was not the first time Suh got punished for his gameplay. Even in the past, he had some on-field brawls with the QBs and opposition players.
A career filled with penalties and fines
As a defensive tackle Suh had an extensive career in the pro football league. He was initially selected by the Lions in the 2010 NFL draft. His first misconduct happened in 2011, on Thanksgiving day, when he pushed the offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith’s head into the ground three times before stomping on his arm.

He got suspended for two games for his actions. Almost one year later, on the same day of Thanksgiving, Suh kicked Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. For his actions, the tackle was asked to pay a fine of $30,000.
The biggest blunder of his life happened in 2013 when Suh low-blocked John Sullivan during an interception return. He was fined $100,000, the largest penalty for an on-field action in league history.

The 2017 season seems to be the last time Suh got fined for his on-field roughness. The same year the Miami Dolphins released him, freeing a lot of salary cap space. Later he was signed by the Rams and then Buccaneers in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
