Just two minutes before halftime, the Chiefs’ Chris Jones tackled the Raiders’ quarterback Derrek Carr. The referee deemed the play roughing up.
The Troy Aikman controversy
The call was controversial and drew widespread reaction in the NFL world. Aikman gave a controversial statement while reacting to the call.
“My hope is that the competition committee looks at this in the next set of meetings and you know, we take the dresses off,” he reacted. Twitter users wasted no time in ripping into the former Dallas Cowboy legend.
A fan was disappointed.
What a disappointing comment to make. As if wearing dresses were a bad thing…

A fan thought the comments were pathetic.

A fan tried to propose a solution.
The flag was thrown by the head ref. He had a bad angle and what he saw was basically a pancake of Carr. The solution is a quick replay review by a sky ref without slowing down the game. It has been for years but the NFL has a head up the ass for change.

An Aikman fan had his say.
I like Troy Aikman, but his comment here is sexist.

The Raiders led comfortably at halftime but the Chiefs turned the game over their heads. Powered by a performance of class by Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, the Chiefs overturned the lead and won the game by a single point.
Mahomes threw four touchdown passes. Kelce ended up receiving a similar number of times for a touchdown.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons game saw a similar call being made. It was Tom Brady who was on the receiving end of the tackle by Grady Jarret. The Brady call had more bearing on the result as it enabled the Buccaneers to run down the clock and win the game. The one on Monday enabled the Raiders to extend their lead.
