Over the past two decades, Tom Brady has proved himself to be the true ambassador of the sport. With seven Super Bowl titles and several other accolades, the former Patriots quarterback has created a benchmark of his own. It turns out that the man responsible for fostering this talent is none other than his father, Tom Brady Sr. However, the 78-year-old believes that he only had a minor role in Brady’s development.

In various instances, Brady was vocal about his father and the support he offered throughout his journey. One of the moments that remains afresh in the minds of the NFL fans is when the QB was asked about his role model in life, and Brady replied with teary eyes, saying it was his father. While speaking in an interview, Tom Brady Sr spoke about the shortcomings and setbacks he faced when Tom was a child.

He refused to take credit for his son’s overall success because he believed that Tom’s achievements is due to his commitment, hard work, and passion for the game. Especially the coaches and teachers who fostered him were more credible persons to have the credit.

“He was only under our roof for 18 years. So he’s, you know, he was just a very young man, we would say his tale heading off to Michigan and the New England and so frankly we, we don’t take much credit for it,” Brady Sr said to the interviewer. ” Brady Sr. adds, “He’s done this with the help of so many other people that, you know, we’re not in the rearview mirror. We’re kind of in the side-view mirror but we’re not. We’re not the ones that put them here,”

No wonder where Brady’s humble behavior originated from. Along with football, Brady’s parents imparted him with great family values.

The Buccaneers quarterback comes from an athletic background. His three older sisters were baseball players who played at the highest levels, certainly luring Brady to take up sports seriously.

His father, Brady Sr., affirmed that he had tried every other thing like ballet, guitar, and piano, but the quarterback was always inclined towards sports just like his sisters. As a result, he pushed him to pursue what he loves and challenged him in every walk of life.

“My fault… I started it. Everything we did, and I mean everything, like running home from church, throwing a rock the farthest… Everything was a competition,” Brady Sr. said. It turns out the practice did wonder for him. His fiery attitude and aggressive gameplay were the results of this competitive upbringing.
