Recently, the team lost their week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans. When addressing the press, the Commanders’ head coach Ron Rivera had this to give as a reason for their terrible beginning to the season and why other teams in the division are further ahead. “The truth is this is a quarterback driven league.” Said Rivera. Putting the blame on the quarterback and his ability which leads to major trends in the team’s performances.
Do the fans hold Carson Wentz responsible as well?
It seems that Ron Rivera has rubbed some fans the wrong way. Even though you can pick out errors from Wentz in these matches, some fans jumped to call out the head coach.
Making Wentz the scapegoat didn't work out well for the colts, it ain't gonna work for Washington. Wentz ain't been great but my lord, Washington has probably the worst line in football and their coaching in all 3 phases is completely out of touch with the league. Not just QB

This fan certainly questions the ability of Rivera to actually build an effective offense.
He has yet to put together a strong offense in two spots now. Maybe it is him and the OC. He can put together a defense but you give your offense nothing to work with and then you bring in Wentz

One fan even gave examples of other teams from their own division and brought forth an argument against Ron Rivera and his belief.
Not a Wentz fan
But I am also not a Daniel Jones fan. So that theory goes out the window with a 3rd head coach for Danie and a 5-1 record.
Also, Cowboys are winning with their Defense and a backup QB.
No wonder this guy is losing, we all know the division better than Ron.

When there is such a strong case in point, it’s hard to argue. While Dallas Cowboys play with their backup quarterback right now. They have still managed to perform at a decent level. Additionally, The New York Giants QB Daniel Jones has been in a constant debate over his abilities to be an elite player in his position. But both the teams have had much more promising starts to the season than the Washington Commanders.
How has Wentz commanded the Washington Offence up until now?
The Washington Commanders acquired Carson Wentz to deputize the quarterback role, this offseason. The Indianapolis Colts received two third-round picks and 2022 2nd round pick swaps.

The quarterback started on a roll in the first match against the Jacksonville Jaguars, scoring 4 touchdowns. However, it was the only win to come under their belt. The Commanders have since lost all of their games. And while the defense looks solid. The offense remains volatile and inconsistent.
While Carson Wentz has racked up 10 touchdown passes and 1390 passing yards. What eclipses his performance is the 6 interceptions he has thrown with them. One of the interceptions even came against the Titans. Trailing 17-21 Washington was 3rd and goal. Having the opportunity to snatch the win. However, in the same play, Wentz threw an interception, and the chance was gone.
