The billionaire owner, president, and GM of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones, spoke to 105.3 The Fan Radio. There Jerry Jones made it clear that he wants the wide receiver at Dallas wearing the star on his helmet. Odell Beckham Jr. can join a potential Super Bowl-winning side and Jerry Jones knows that it’s been too long since a championship ring.
“We have to have this year. It’s very important. The things we do to have him impact this year. This year has to be a big part of it,” Jones said. “We’ve got, in my mind, almost the whole show ahead of us.” The Dallas Cowboys can be a legitimate dual threat in receiving and rushing offense according to Jones. The Odell Beckham Jr. free agency saga has been taking up much of the social media space lately. However, things took a new turn when OBJ was in the news for being asked to exit an American Airlines flight due to inappropriate behavior with the attendants and refusal to wear the seatbelt. The wide receiver took to Twitter to express his frustration with the entire incident. “Never in my life have I experienced what just happened to me… I’ve seen it alll..” tweeted the 2x All-Pro receiver.
Jerry Jones isn’t concerned with the Miami airport shenanigans but more with Odell Beckham Jr. keeping his health and fitness. The wide receiver has been plagued with injuries for the last three years and has been out of the game since the Super Bowl LVI matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. OBJ had a TD in the winning championship game. However, he tore his ACL later on in the evening. For the last 3 NFL seasons, Beckham has less than 400 yards of receiving each year from spending most of the games on injury reserve.

The Dallas Cowboys could become one of the fiercest offensive powerhouses in the NFL if OBJ joins them. Beckham will fill the void left by Amari Cooper’s departure and will be the perfect receiving complement to Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup. RB Tony Pollard is also having a season to remember and was the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after the 40-3 domination of the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11. Will Odell go for the long-term contract at NY Giants or for his second ring at Dallas?
