In a recent interview with Aubrey Marcus, Packers QB Rodgers opened up about his days spent in his darkness retreat. Aaron Rodgers spent time alienated from society and the limelight in a facility in Oregon, surrounded by complete darkness. He felt that in order to introspect how life should be; he needed to find himself far away from the limelight that shines on him as a player. When you are as talented and famous as Rodgers, it is inevitable that sometimes fame gets the better of you.

Rodgers said, “I just needed to get the opportunity to reset and as it got closer and closer obviously there were a lot of questions about my future that have been, you know, on my mind and have been contemplated and I knew it would be a good opportunity to kind of sit with those things. How often do we ever unplug? How do we often set our phone down a little bit, read a book instead of watch TV, you know, meditate instead of listening to music? Whatever it might be that allows us to disconnect from technology and from the world and give ourselves the gift of rest.”
