It’s no surprise that the entire NFL universe is fascinated with Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. Unanimously slated as the successor to the Brady-Manning rivalry, fans of other franchises wish for one of them for their own pockets. Cowboys Country loyalist Skip Bayless is no different. The controversial host of the Undisputed Show has been waiting too long to see his beloved Cowboys lift a Lombardi and desperately wants the Dak Prescott era to end.
Bayless did some Dak-trashing on the recent installment of his segment when asked about the quarterback he would like to see in the Dallas pocket. Obviously, Joe Cool and Mahomes had to make that list. However, Bayless made an interesting choice between the two, especially given the recent Super Bowl verdict.

Yes, LSU Heisman winner Joe Burrow still leads in the head-to-head category against Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes 3-1. However, Mahomes leads the Bengals passer in the more crucial department; the Super Bowl trophies. Mahomes has 2 Lombardis in the last four years and Burrow is yet to open his books. Mahomes, besides winning the league MVP this year, also bagged the Super Bowl LVII MVP, an incredible feat previously achieved by Kurt Warner in 1999. However, for Dallas’ Super Bowl ambitions, Skip Bayless wants to hand over the keys to Burrow instead of the reigning champion.
“Yes, my Cowboys have a quarterback issue. I’ll call it a problem. And yes, we are stuck with that problem, with Dak Prescott,” Bayless said in his segment of Undisputed. “If the genie granted me one wish and only one wish, I ask for Joe Burrow. Because I take him as a little more consistent and a little more clutch than Patrick Mahomes.”
Yes, the records say otherwise. Mahomes also beat Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 this year in the AFC Conference championship. Regardless, Skip Bayless is a Joe Burrow fan, the same way he began rooting for Tom Brady. And it’s not surprising to see Bayless pick his preferred quarterback candidate.

However, what remains as the actual concern for Cowboys Country and Jerry Jones is Dak Prescott.

Dak Prescott has special assistance on the roster this year
Jerry Jones has reinstated his faith in Prescott even after 2023’s playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Moreover, Dallas’ fans really can’t blame Dak Prescott any more than Tony Romo, Randall Cunningham, or any other quarterbacks wearing the star on their helmets since Troy Aikman won the franchise’s last Super Bowl in 1996. Even Skip Bayless doesn’t have a better alternative to Prescott at the moment. However, he does think Dallas has a special weapon this year.
“I can’t replace Dak Prescott no matter what I do,” Skip added. “Dak will be at quarterback for my Cowboys, whether I like it or not. But this time his wrongs will be righted by the best defense in the NFL.” Dak Prescott has been in charge of the Cowboys’ offense since 2016. However, he only has a 2-4 postseason record and has never made it past the divisional round in the playoffs. Can the Micah Parsons-led Cowboys defense aid Prescott’s offense in their quest to take Dallas to the promised Lombardi land? Or will it once again be a Mahomes and Burrow show?
