The NFL and NBA love crossovers. Players from both leagues are often hanging out or playing together. This time, it’s Shaquille O’Neal and Rob Gronkowski. The duo hosted a live stream party on Saturday night called ‘Shaq’s Fun House vs. Gronk Beach’.

Shaq and Rob Gronkowski do lots of fun stuff together

The two athletes decided to play a friendly game of HORSE. However, while the game was on, the NBA legend brought down the rim! That’s right, Shaq destroyed the rim after throwing down a one-handed alley-oop.

Shaq has quite some experience breaking rims or even entire backboards. The three-time MVP has destroyed the backboard twice in an actual NBA game.

Shaq and Gronk came together to host a virtual party for a very good cause. The money raised by the party was donated to the NAACP (Gronkowski) or the Boys & Girls Club (O’Neal). Further, DoorDash and Feeding America teamed up to donate 1.25 million meals during the course of the party.

We’re partying with a purpose. I don’t want everyone to think ‘Oh, those guys are just partying.’ Because we know for a fact, and research has been done, especially by myself, music and sports bring people together. Doesn’t matter what your agendas are. Those two things always bring people together and Gronk and I happen to dominate both,” O’Neal previously told USA Today.

The event featured performances by artists such as DaBaby, Snoop Dogg, Diplo, and Steve Aoki. It also involved a total of six challenges between O’Neal and Gronkowski. The winner of each event earned a donation to his charity, thus helping in furthering the cause of social justice.

The challenges included a Rap Battle, jousting, a steak challenge, and a sports showdown among others. “I’ve listened to him perform and rap. I’m not too sure he’s going to win the lip-syncing competition,” Gronkowski told USA Today.

Rob Gronkowski, who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, was seen in a group workout with his teammates on Tuesday morning. The Bucs practiced at a local school and seemed to be preparing for training camp. While Tampa Bay has a strong offense this year, especially with Tom Brady joining, two of their defensive players recently underwent surgery.

This might affect their attendance at training camp next month but shouldn’t stretch into the regular season which starts in September.
