The AP MVP award has been a major talk among the fans during the NFL Honors. The Associated Press chose the 2021 NFL Most Valuable Player by casting a ballot by a countrywide committee of the press. With Tom Brady, Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Rodgers competing for the title, the race has been very interesting to analyze.

Many critics believe that Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have arguably been there in the MVP debate each year for the last 10 years. Even in Brady’s season finale, the two remained considered. However, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won the competition for the second year running. Even though many argue that Tom should really have earned it, we examine his TD passes that would have otherwise won him the 2021 NFL MVP over Aaron Rodgers.

Was Tom Brady a worthy MVP nominee?

Tom Brady had one of the most productive seasons in League history, amassing 5,316 yards passing, 67.5 pass percentage, and 43 touchdowns while guiding the Buccaneers to the league’s top receiving corps. He has a yardage advantage of over 1,200 yards. He also has advantages in terms of scores and completion percentage. Moreover, his 485 completions set a record.

However, in terms of MVP voting, the Green Bay Packers quarterback garnered 34 of the 50 All-Pro first-team votes, whereas Tom Brady collected 16. WR Cooper Kupp received only one vote.

Rodgers finished 68.9 percent of his passes and scored 37 touchdown passes with 4 interceptions. He had a passer rating of 124.4 in the last seven matches of 2021. As Rodgers continued to set records, the Packers finished the regular season with the longest winning streak in the NFC, 13-4-0.

According to statistical data, both quarterbacks are very competitive. The primary distinction, however, is in pass percentage and yards. Rodgers’ advantage is that he had fewer interceptions. All who polled for the MVP candidates prioritized interceptions more than most other stats.

Rodgers adds another MVP award to his collection, joining Brady, Brett Favre, Jim Brown, and more. Only Peyton Manning has won more NFL MVP titles than Rodgers. Although Brady is back for another season, he might look to complete some unfinished business. There are wide prospects, but he can look for an MVP run, leading the team to the Super Bowl.
