The 2021 NFL Draft was one filled with stellar quarterback talent. And the picks made in this year’s draft reflect that. Rookie QBs Trevor Lawrence, Trey Lance, Justin Fields and Mac Jones all went in the first round.

While Trevor Lawrence was picked by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the first overall pick, Jones was picked 15th overall by the New England Patriots.

Both quarterbacks have enjoyed sensational college careers. Both are national champions and both have the potential to light up the league in the years to come.

While Trevor Lawrence played for the Clemson Tigers, Mac Jones turned up for Alabama’s college football team. Thus the two were never teammates back in college and it’s unlikely the two will ever be on the same roster ever either in the future.

But the two did get the time to throw some balls back in high school. And in a classic throwback video, Lawrence can be seen playing a position alien to him to help Mac Jones throw some dimes.

In a recent throwback video, Mac Jones and Trevor Lawrence can be seen taking part in the Rivals Camp Series. The event is a series of free regional camps reserved for the top high school recruits looking to make it to D1 programs.

The video which was taken back in 2016 shows Mac Jones running some passing drills with none other than Trevor Lawrence as center.

Trevor Lawrence too participated in the drills and finished but it was Mac Jones who won the Quarterback Challenge Finals. The two are yet to go head-to-head against one another. But it shouldn’t be long before that day arrives.

In fact, we could well see the two quarterbacks square off against one another this season itself. The Jaguars are set to take on the Patriots in Week 16 on January 2nd, 2022.

While Lawrence is expected to be the Jaguars’ starter by that time, the same can’t be said about Mac Jones who will face serious competition from veteran QB and former MVP winner Cam Newton.
