On November 28th, 2019, the New Orleans Saints squared off against the Atlanta Falcons. Admittedly, the game was a massacre. Leading the Saints’ charge were quarterback Drew Brees and receiver Michael Thomas. Sometime during the 4th quarter, Brees got the ball and flung it at Michael Thomas who pulled off a stunning catch.
Some would suggest that the Saints were out for revenge after the Falcons thrashed them 23-9 two weeks prior. This second game was a little closer, with a score of 26-18 in the Saints’ favor.
During this game, Drew Brees reached 10,000 career passing attempts simultaneously becoming the second quarterback to reach the milestone.

His double-team with wide receiver Michael Thomas had the honor of being the 10,000th passing attempt. Suffice to say, if Drew Brees wanted the milestone to be memorable, this was the perfect opportunity.
Unfortunately, his 10,001st attempt to tight end Jason Vander Laan fell incomplete. The good news was that the Saints still won the game and vindicated themselves.

Drew Brees was seeking redemption for his role in the earlier loss
Two weeks ago, the New Orleans Saints slumped to an ugly 23-9 loss to the Falcons, the latter’s second victory of the season. On that awful day, Grady Jarrett made mincemeat of the Saints offensive line while Brees was sacked six times in the game.

Meanwhile, on the defensive front, the Saints could not contain Atlanta’s running back. Even with Devonta Freeman out with an injury, Brian Hill made up for his absence and came through for his team.
To make matters worse for the Saints, they lost top cornerback Marshon Lattimore early in the first half. The defensive line also struggled to contain Matt Ryan.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom as the special teams tried to salvage the game. The rookie Deonte Harris managed to rack up 85 yards on kick returns and put the offense in a great position.
Unfortunately, an ugly foul on special teams’ ace J.T. Gray undid all their hard work.
