Lamar Jackson and his future in the NFL are still a mystery. Despite the Baltimore Ravens‘ non-exclusive franchise tagging the player, no solid team has come up to try to finalize a contract with the 2019 MVP. According to reports, Indianapolis Colts were in the race to pursue Lamar Jackson. Apart from this, New England Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft had some interesting revelations regarding the possibility of Jackson being a Patriot. This revelation had fans excited about acquiring the dual-threat QB for the roster next season. But it all lies in the hands of HC Bill Belichick.

Recently, during a press conference in the NFL owners’ meeting, they asked Belichick about Lamar Jackson joining the Patriots, to which the HC had a very diplomatic stance. But this attitude led to whispers that the Patriots didn’t want Jackson. What did Belichick have to say?

The NFL owners’ meeting is a time when the owners, head coaches, and officials of the league come together to discuss problematic stances that face the NFL in the upcoming season. In this meeting, Patriots HC Bill Belichick had an interview with the press. They asked him whether the team will pursue the 2019 QB MVP after he was non-exclusive franchise tagged by the Ravens.

Answering this question, Belichick said he does not wish to discuss other teams and their player. He replied to the question by stating, “I’m not going to talk about players on other teams”. This led to the start of rumors that the Patriots’ HC was not interested in acquiring Lamar Jackson in any form.

While Lamar Jackson still wanders in search of concrete ground for the 2023 season, his position still remains uncertain. With no team showing an interest in the QB, one might wonder what is going on in the drawing room of the franchises for a player who is one of the greatest QBs in the game at the moment.
