Home/NFL

Eli Manning is a certified NFL legend. There is no doubt about it. While his two SuperBowl wins and his longevity on the field are impressive as hell, there is one more thing that’s as impressive about the former New York Giants quarterback. The way he has managed to stay relevant and keep himself accessible to his fans is certainly commendable and makes him extra special.

Eli Manning, post his NFL career, has been very active online. He runs his own shows on various platforms apart from starring in commercials and pulling his brother’s leg on Twitter. One of his shows is “Eli’s Extras”, produced by the New York Giants where he hangs out with special guests and chats about life. In the latest episode of Eli’s Extras, the former Giants quarterback got to hang with the cast of Sopranos!

Eli hangs out with the cast of Sopranos

In the latest episode of “Eli’s Extra”, Manning wanders into New York City’s Little Italy to break bread with Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa of The Sopranos. One highlight of the episode was Eli learning to eat spaghetti with a spoon.

Another highlight of the show was Schirripa talking about explaining how they’d treat actors to dinner at an Italian restaurant. He cheekily then revealed that the ones getting killed off received “special meals” from the cast. Imperioli hit the final nail in the coffin by telling Manning that we are sponsoring you a special meal over there. Truly hilarious!

Eli Manning, the evergreen superstar

Eli Manning for me is the template superstar in the NFL world. Template superstars are those who manage to stay relevant even after the end of their sporting careers. One look at his endorsement deals and an increase in net worth post-retirement proves this statement. According to Forbes, Manning “continues to be one of the most marketable players off the field.”

His endorsement portfolio includes Nike, Hublot, Toyota Motor, Visa, DirecTV, and Gatorade. Not only he earns from endorsements, but from shows like Eli’s Extras as well. The former Giants quarterback also does post-match analysis with his brother Peyton, which furthers his income pool. To see a retired professional work hard is what makes Eli an evergreen superstar of the NFL.
