During Sunday’s Pro Bowl, the AFC defeated the NFC Conference in Las Vegas. However, the Allegiant Stadium witnessed the greatest highlight of the day when Mac Jones performed the “Griddy” Dance.

The Allegiant Stadium hosted the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl. The AGC beat the NFC 41-35. Nevertheless, Mac Jones’s performance highlighted this big day. The Patriots quarterback completed 12 of 16 passes for 117 yards, a touchdown with an interception. What topped the day was, however, the Griddy dance he did late in the 4th quarter. After the referee called the game dead, Mac Jones took off and kept running toward the end zone. He performed the famous Griddy dance, and the stadium erupted in cheers.

As Jones performed the famous Griddy, Colts Mascot, Blue joined him. This had the crowd going bonkers, and players on the other side were laughing. Essentially, the Pro Bowl is contested between the AFC and NFC conferences, primarily for entertainment value. That’s precisely what Mac Jones did when he busted out the famous Griddy.

Origin of the dance that Mac Jones performed

The Griddy dance has been a staple of NFL celebrations after Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson brought it to the NFL in 2020. Originally the Griddy dance was an LSU tradition. It was LSU’s Allen Davis, who invented the Griddy and taught it to Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase then introduced it to Justin Jefferson, and they both introduced it to the rest of their LSU teammates. In the end, Justin Jefferson Brought the Griddy with him to the NFL.

Since its introduction, the Griddy has been performed by many players including, Ja’Marr Chase, Kirk Cousins, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Adam Thielen, etc. On Sunday in the Pro Bowl game, the Griddy gang found its newest addition in Mac Jones.
