Jerry Jones has been a part of the NFL for a very long time. He knows how things work around here, which is why we have seen Jones making many tough decisions in the past. Some of them have gone right, while some of them have been wrong for his team.

Back in 2010, Jerry Jones, while being drunk, fired massive shots at former Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells. Not only that, but he also fired shots at former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

Under the influence, Jones said, “Romo was a miracle. He almost never got in, and he almost was gone, Tebow would never hit the field.” A person then asked Jones if he was the owner of the Jaguars, would he have drafted Tebow to sell jerseys?

Jerry Jones responded, and said, “That’s the only reason I brought in Bill Parcells. Bill is not worth a sh*t. I love him, not worth a sh*t, but I wanted… They were on my a*s so bad. They said J’s gotta have a ‘Yes Man’. So to get this fu**in stadium, I need to bring his a*s in.

The person asked Jones whether he would have taken Tim Tebow in the 3rd round if he was available. Jerry Jones answered, Why? He’d never get on the field. I can’t get him out there.” It was clear that the Dallas Cowboys owner wasn’t very fond of Tim Tebow.

Jerry Jones’ opinion about Tim Tebow turned out well

Jerry Jones was never a big fan of Tim Tebow as a football player. He knew that Tebow was a very famous college player, and he would have been a perfect fit for the Cowboys for their brand.

However, he wouldn’t have been good for them as a quarterback. The Cowboys then had Jon Kitna as their quarterback. Kitna was succeeded by Tony Romo as the QB1 of the Cowboys. Despite his playoff failures, Romo was a great quarterback for America’s team.

On the other hand, Tim Tebow just played three seasons in the NFL. During those three seasons, Tebow threw for 2,422 yards and 17 touchdowns. He spent two seasons with the Denver Broncos and the final season with the New York Jets. Tebow is still loved by many people, but his career in the NFL was a disappointment.
